Zabrina has over 20 years working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults and families. She uses a tailored approach to meet each client’s unique needs. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Expressive/Supportive Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Nurtured Heart Approach, Strengths-Based Approach, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Restorative Practices, Social Emotional Learning and Trauma-Informed Focus of Care.
Zabrina has a breadth of experience working within the Child Study Team process in schools. As a child and family therapist, she empowers families through psychoeducation, enabling them to advocate for their child’s needs within the school system.
From an early age, Zabrina has been driven by a deep desire to help others, whether supporting a peer in need or caring for a stray animal. Throughout her life, there have also been moments when she wished she had someone trustworthy and non-judgemental to turn to for guidance and support. This reflection led her to pursue a career in clinical social work, as it aligns with her core values and her passion for making a positive impact on others’ lives. She finds great satisfaction in helping individuals navigate difficult times, and if she can make someone’s life just a little bit easier, especially during challenging moments, she feels truly fulfilled.
Zabrina creates a warm and welcoming space that feels safe. She learns from each of her clients as much as they learn from her. Her approach is rooted in the Nurtured Heart, strengths-based, and collaborative methods. You are the expert on yourself, your family, and/or your child(ren), and she considers it a privilege to be trusted to be part of your journey.
She strives to create a collaborative environment where supervisees feel heard, valued, and supported in their professional development. Her approach emphasizes mutual learning, where everyone can share insights and experiences. Zabrina is naturally supportive and nurturing, and aims to create a safe space that fosters growth through empowerment, reflection, and encouragement.
Zabrina loves spending time with friends and family. Some may say she is obsessed with cats, but she only has 2 cats and a bearded dragon. She likes listening to music, especially live. She likes to go for hikes, ride her bike, exercise, and dance. She also enjoys listening to true crime podcasts.
